The UCSC Dining team, the Redwood Sluggers, has once again earned the title of 1st Place People’s Choice for our Manhattan Clam Chowder.
The competition took place at the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk during the 37th Annual Clam Chowder Cook-off and Festival. UCSC Dining also competed as the Chowder Sluggers team in the Professional Boston Clam Chowder category.
This year, the event raised more than $100,000 for City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation. More than $1 million has been raised since the first competition in 1981.
UCSC Dining has been competing in the cook-off since 2005, and we have taken home 17 awards to date. We would like to thank our talented staff for their efforts and enthusiasm in participating in the cook-off!
