UCSC Dining Hosts 2nd Annual "Retail Summit"

Collegiate dining professionals from all over California converged at UC Santa Cruz this week for the 2nd Annual Higher Education Retail Summit. The summit had its inaugural event at UC Santa Barbara in 2016, and is an opportunity for collaboration among food service directors, cafe managers, and their team members in operations, production, merchandising, sales and systems.

This year's topics included “All Things Pricing,” a Marketing Mastermind, a UCSC Dining campus presentation, and more. Participants remarked on how valuable it was to spend quality time with other industry professionals to share ideas and solutions, create partnerships, and prepare for the coming academic year.

We applaud our unit managers Cori Doninelli and Traci Takeuchi for all their great work in hosting this event. The summit attracted our colleagues from within UC Santa Cruz, as well as from UC Riverside, UC Santa Barbara, UC Davis, Stanford University, and UC San Diego, where the event will be held in 2018.
