UCSC Receives Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Certification

The Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall remodel received the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Silver for the sustainable practices utilized during their recent renovation.

Join us on Monday, November 1, 2010 at the Sustainability and Internship Fairtaking place at the Cowell Courtyard from 1:30-4:00pm. Students will learn about opportunities to acquire internships related to sustainability. In a brief ceremony at 3:30, Scott Berlin, Director of Dining Services, will  be accepting the LEED plaque on behalf of dining services followed by tours of the Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall. Visit the campus sustainability web site for a list of organizations that will be in attendance. Come connect and learn! Snacks will be served.

This is UCSC's second LEED rating and the very first LEED certification at UCSC to be awarded for building renovation.
