Dining Details for Passover 2019

UCSC Dining is serving a variety of dishes for the Passover holiday, Friday, April 19-Saturday, April 27, 2019, during lunch and dinner service at select stations. Everyone is welcome to dine on these delicious dishes.

Dining locations featuring Passover menu items:

  • Colleges Nine & Ten Dining Hall
  • Cowell/Stevenson Dining Hall
  • Rachel Carson/Oakes Dining Hall

Our Executive Chef, Josh Martin, has consulted with Rabbi Shlomie Chein, Director of Chabad at UCSC, to prepare the finest Passover dining service we can for the UCSC community.

We are taking measures to provide thoughtful Passover dining, like:

  • Dedicating a select station just for Passover menu items
  • Consulting with Rabbi Shlomie Chein on best practices
  • Helping our employees to understand Passover meal service

Passover dining highlights:

  • Meat and dairy will not be served during the same meal times.
  • All meat featured at Passover menu stations is kosher certified.
  • We’ll serve a variety of Passover dishes during the week including ground-lamb stuffed peppers, brisket, matzo, latkes, cucumber salad, macaroons, and more.

There will not be a mashgiach present during the cleaning, preparing, cooking, or serving, therefore our Passover dining options will not meet strict kosher standard.
