With the GET app or website, you can…

  • Once we are able to resume dine-in service, you can “swipe in” at the dining hall using the Scan Card feature in the GET mobile app on your phone. Simply hold your phone screen up to the contactless scanner.


Getting Started

Students can get started with the GET app right away. Faculty and staff members can get access to the GET app or website by filling out the access request form.

Order Ahead for Pick Up

Save time and order ahead from one of our cafes or coffee bars! We’ll have your food and drinks ready for you to pick up at your scheduled time.

Order ahead frequently asked questions:

How long do I have to pick up my order?

Order must be picked up within 10 minutes of the assigned pick-up time. After that, the order must be discarded for food safety reasons, and you will need to place a new order. No refund will be provided

Do I need a face covering to pick up my meal?

Yes. Until further notice, no one will be permitted inside a dining facility without an appropriate face covering.

When will I be charged for my order?

You will be charged when you place the order (not when you pick up the order).

When can I pick up my order?

You can choose any pick-up time during normal business hours. The earliest pick-up time is 15 minutes after order time, but at peak times orders may take longer.

I placed an order, but when I went to the dining location, they had no record of it. Why?

Be on the lookout for an email from get-admin-group@ucsc.edu indicating that the transaction failed. This email will arrive in your inbox within about one minute if you are placing your order for pick up “ASAP”. If you place your orders well in advance, email notification of a transaction failure would arrive 15 minutes before your pick up time. Due to the software, order confirmation emails go out before the system knows whether the transaction has succeeded or failed.

How to purchase Flexi Dollars

Get Free Flexi Dollars when you buy in bulk
Log into the GET app or website, then navigate to the Order or Explore section. Scroll to find our two Add Flexi options that provide great discounts. Click your chosen option, then follow the prompts to add to your cart and complete the transaction with your credit card. A Flexi Dollar is equivalent to 1 US Dollar, so this is a great way to save $150 or more! More about Flexi Dollars » 

Or, add a smaller amount of Flexi Dollars using “Add Funds”
Visit the Accounts section of the GET app or website, then click Add Funds. Use your credit card to complete the purchase, adding the desired amount of Flexi$ to your account.

Parents, guardians, and other relatives can add Flexi$ to a student account
Visit get.cbord.com/ucsc to add Flexi Dollars to your student’s account. You will need to know your student’s UCSC student ID number.


How to purchase Slug Meals

Get the best savings when you buy 50 or 100
Log into the GET app or website, then navigate to the Order or Explore section. Scroll to find our two Add Slug Meal options that include additional free meals, plus bonus Flexi Dollars. Click your chosen option, then follow the prompts to add to your cart and complete the transaction with your credit card. This is a great way to save up to $206! More about Slug Meals » 

Or, add a smaller amount of Slug Meals at the regular rate
Log into the GET app or website, then navigate to the Order or Explore section. Click your chosen option to select 5, 10, or 20 Slug Meals. Then, follow the prompts to add to your cart and complete the transaction with your credit card.


How to purchase a Voluntary Meal Plan

Staff, faculty, and students without a meal plan requirement are invited to purchase a voluntary meal plan of your choice. First, visit our Meal Plans page to determine the best option for your needs.

After you’ve decided which meal plan option is best for you, log into the GET app or website, then navigate to the Order or Explore section. Click your chosen option, then follow the prompts to add to your cart and complete the transaction with your credit card.

Students living in residence halls do not purchase their required 5-Day or 7-Day meal plan using GET. Required plans are included in your housing contract.

Meal Plan Purchases

If you are a student who does not have a required meal plan, and you would like to purchase Slug Meals, Flexi Dollars, or a 5- or 7-Day Meal Plan, you must use the GET app or website to add these funds to your account using a credit card. Faculty and staff are also encouraged to purchase Slug Meals and Flexi Dollars, and must also use the GET platform to do so; however, you will need to request access to the GET platform first. More about Meal Plans »

Dining Hall Meal Orders

Due to COVID-19 operational changes, all meals must be ordered ahead using the GET app or website. This touchless option promotes a clean dining environment, plus all you need with you is your phone. Pay with a credit card or your meal plan (7-Day, 5-Day, Slug Meals, or Flexi Dollars) and pick up your food from the dining hall at the scheduled time. Order must be picked up within 10 minutes of the assigned pick-up time. After that, the order must be discarded for food safety reasons, and you will need to place a new order. No refund will be provided.

Special Instructions for 5-Day and 7-Day plans

Use “Board Meals” to pay for your dining hall meal if you have a 5-Day or 7-Day plan. The app displays “0 meals” for these unlimited plans; however you can and should use Board Meals as your payment method.

Why can’t I place an order, but I successfully placed a dining hall meal order in the past?

It's possible that the "one order per hour" limit is the cause. Wait until an hour has passed since your last order, then try again. 5-Day and 7-Day plans are limited to one order per hour.
