Meals To-Go

Reusable Eco-Boxes are available for students to borrow and return to any dining hall.

Compostable Serviceware

We offer compostable containers and utensils for a meal to-go. Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we’re waiving the usual 50 cent fee for compostable to-go ware. These non-reusable containers are intended for one time use.

For food safety reasons, we cannot allow our customers to use their own containers to take a meal to-go. Only the provided compostable serviceware or a freshly-issued Eco-Box may be used.

Free Eco-Club Membership for 5-Day & 7-Day plan holders

Students on a 5-Day or 7-Day Meal Plan are invited to join the Eco-Club. With an Eco-Club Membership, you can borrow a sustainable, reusable Eco-Box to take a meal to go. In 2021-22, we’re waiving the usual $10 annual membership fee. As long as you return the Eco-Box, you won’t be charged for participating in the program. Lost Eco-Boxes incur a $10 replacement fee charged to your student account. A 5-Day or 7-Day meal plan is required in order to participate in the Eco-Club.

How to use your Eco-Club Membership:

  • If you have a 5-Day or 7-Day plan, you’re automatically part of the Eco-Club. Ask the dining hall cashier to lend you an Eco-Box for a meal to-go. (limitations may apply, see below)
  • After you eat, wipe the Eco-Box clean using a napkin. Food scraps and napkins can be discarded into a compost bin. We’ll deep clean the Eco-Box after you return it.
  • The next time you visit a dining hall, return the Eco-Box to the cashier. You can return the container to the dining hall that issued it, or any other open dining hall.
  • If you’re ready to eat again, the cashier will let you borrow a new, clean Eco-Box.
  • If you simply want to return the Eco-Box without taking another meal to-go, the cashier will credit your ID so you’ll be all set the next time you want to borrow an Eco-Box.
  • Lost or unreturned Eco-Boxes incur a $10 replacement fee.

Our reusable Eco-Box containers are: sustainable, convenient, cost effective, eco-friendly, 100% BPA-free polypropylene, commercial dishwasher safe, and microwave safe for reheating.

Meal To-Go Limitations

5-Day and 7-Day Meal Plan holders are able to take 1 Meal To-Go per meal period. There are four daily meal periods: breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late night. 5-Day plan holders can take up to 20 meals to-go per week, Monday–Friday, while 7-Day plan holders can take up to 28 per week. Meal To-Go balances reset each week.

Dining halls do not accept meal orders via GET, so you’ll need to visit in-person.
